Don't all thank me at once... Now the new football season has started I've decided to be brave a make a few predictions. The bookies won't like me but it's a burden I'm willing to shoulder. I reckon either Chelsea, Arsenal or Manchester United will win the Premiership. Chelsea, Arsenal or Manchester United will win the FA Cup, oh and Chelsea, Arsenal or Manchester United will win some/all/a few of the other trophies and associated gongs handed out every season. Controversial choices I know as the Premiership is so competitive.

Current odds for the Premiership win for the new season from Totalbet.....

Chelski 8/13
Man Utd 3/1
Arsenal 7/2
Liverpool 20/1
Tottenham! 100/1
Newcastle 250/1

All the way down to Portsmouth, Sunderland & Wigan at 5000/1

I think your money is safe Mr C, albeit with little in the way of winnings.

I think someone at Totalbet must be a Tottenham fan & have been a little optimistic.

Let's hope Essien is worth the £26m Chelski have just paid out!!! Considering his starting price was £10m a year ago, has someone at Chelski has been hoodwinked?

I wondered how long it would be before Daz does his "poor old Arsenal, we don't have as much money as Chelsea or Man Utd".

I'm sure you can get duvet covers with the Arsenal logo all over 'em, you probably sleep under one. Pencil cases too I wager.

Arsenal are rolling in readies but would jump at he chance to be the global brand Man Utd are. I'm sure they'd take the money too. They are a business just like Chelsea and Man Utd, the only real difference is the kit.

Yes, you can get Arsenal duvet covers, pencil cases, baby-grows, etc.

And yes, Arsenal are a business who would jump at the chance of having people in Carlisle snapping up Arsenal shirts and claiming to have supported the club since the moment they were conceived.

However, please credit Arsenal, and in particular Mr Wenger, with a degree of the sense to do the right thing. Wenger has long been a campaigner to stop players' wages spiralling out of control. They've passed on a number of players because they refuse to break the wage structure and submit the club to the ridiculous demands that we see ManYoo caving in to ("another four-bedroom house Mr Ferdinand, didn't you buy one with cash last month?"). They pass on the opportunity to sign those players and then ManYoo and Chelsea sign them and pay the stupid wages.

Arsenal aren't rolling in readies - they're being very careful what with the cost of the new stadium which they need in order to seat more supporters and try to stay in touch financially with ManYoo and Chelski. If you look at their spending this year and last year, it's a fraction of the other big two.

At least you have 3 teams, in Germany we only have Bayern Muenchen.
