It's made of cheese apparently Today is the anniversary of the first landing on the moon in 1969 and it’s hard to imagine the impact it had, all of a sudden everyone wanted to be an astronaut and for a moment it looked as if it was the first step in manned exploration of the near solar system. We know of course that it’s turned out very differently and we haven’t been back for over 30 years, which if you think about it for a second it seems a strange thing to say. However it’s important to understand that the moon landings were as politically motivated as they were scientific; the Americans were keen to show the Russians who the cold war ‘Daddy’ was. Besides paranoia probably imagined the Russians building some kind of moon base which could point nuclear missiles at the US. The cold war was like that! If your interested where they landed, Google as well as bringing us the brilliant Google Earth have also something similar with the moon.

:-) I guess you have to hand it to those Google folks. They know how to have a good laugh. I remember the good old days when software used to have Easter Eggs. I suppose it is the same thing really. As a customer it is good that Excel doesn't contain Flight Sim like '97 did or Doom like Lotus WordPro 2000 did. But as a geek I think it really sucks. I want Easter Eggs!
