I began writing this blog bit whilst stuck at Newcastle airport as my return flight was being put back 4 hours until 9:00pm. A thunderstorm over Heathrow had royally screwed with the schedule and with planes and crew in the wrong places and I wish I’d driven. Well almost. We did manage to take off after the aforementioned 4 hour delay but the chaos didn’t end there. The flight went to plan but after landing Heathrow was full up and they had no free gates to park the aircraft. After almost an hour they found an empty gate to roll up to, but it wasn’t designed to take a 757 so the walkway wouldn’t connect and make matters worse the ground crew wouldn’t use steps as they told the Captain it wasn’t safe. The pilot sounded as pissed off as everyone behind him was. I’m not sure what happened next but some steps turned up fairly quickly; I’m guessing either the pilot told them he was about to have a riot on board, not true as by this time everyone was sure they’d be spending the rest of the night on the plane, or he promised them a trip to the nearest A&E. I read an article on the plane, actually I read both in flight mags from cover to cover, it was about Mini iPods and how difficult they are to get hold of. If you have one you should apparently count yourselves blessed especially if it’s pink. On another mag related topic am I the only person not to understand the current media fascination with Keira Knightley. I just don’t get it. Can someone please explain? Oh and I understand the BBC and the Terry Nation estate have settled their disagreements and Dr Who will be facing Daleks in the new series. These will be a newer updated Dalek apparently, maybe it’ll be more caring and be in touch with it’s feminine side, but at least they’ll get something more useful than a sink plunger for a hand.

Death Star found orbiting Saturn. Well not quite but one of Saturns inner moons Mimas has a passing resemblance.
